Autumn Art Events at Ingrid Restemayer Studio

Upcoming First Thursdays:
October 4, 2012 – 5-9pm
November 1, 2012 – 5-9pm*
December 6, 2012 – 5-9pm
First Thursday Open Studio Crawl is a free monthly exploration of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District, centralized in the Northrup King Building. During the long history of the building and its hundreds of studios it has served as a haven of creativity and the place to find many famous artists at work. The Art Crawl is an event to help local artists offer their wares and interact directly with the public.
And oh yeah, there’s free parking.

Art Attack Annual Fall Studio Crawl
Art Attack is an annual open studio and gallery crawl only at the Northrup King Building, in the heart of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District. The weekend-long event features over 200 artists working in painting and drawing, sculpture, photography, custom furniture, fiber arts, metal, ceramics, glass, hand-crafted and custom jewelry, mixed media, mosaics, textiles, and more.
Friday, November 2, 2012 5:00-10:00 PM
Saturday, November 3, 2012 Noon – 8:00 PM
Sunday, November 4, 2012 Noon – 5:00 PM
I’ll be open all three days of the event, as well as the prior Thursday* for First Thursdays, showing a special preview of new work.

Ingrid Restemayer Receives Artist Initiative Grant

Today the Minnesota State Arts Board met to consider and approve the FY 2012 panel recommendations for the Artist Initiative grant program. These grants are given to support artistic development, nurture artistic creativity, and recognize the contributions individual artists make to the creative environment of the state of Minnesota. I am honored to be one of the grantees. My plan is to use the funding for the production of ten to fifteen new pieces of work that incorporate embroidery, dyed papers, and hand-pulled print collages. Once complete, I plan to exhibit this work at a college or university gallery within the state of Minnesota.

The list of those receiving FY 2012 grants is shown in alphabetical order and is now available online at http://www.arts.state.mn.us/grants/2012/index.htm.

Many thanks to the Minnesota State Arts Board and it's supporters.
