Today the Minnesota State Arts Board met to consider and approve the FY 2012 panel recommendations for the Artist Initiative grant program. These grants are given to support artistic development, nurture artistic creativity, and recognize the contributions individual artists make to the creative environment of the state of Minnesota. I am honored to be one of the grantees. My plan is to use the funding for the production of ten to fifteen new pieces of work that incorporate embroidery, dyed papers, and hand-pulled print collages. Once complete, I plan to exhibit this work at a college or university gallery within the state of Minnesota.
This is where I'll be posting announcements for my arts events. If you'd like to view my work in person, my studio is located in the Northrup King Arts Building in Northeast Minneapolis -- suite 401-b. The studio is open to the public on the first Thursday of each month, 5-9pm or by personal appointment.
